By admin | August 5, 2008

Full Tilt Poker is one of the many dozens of standalone poker rooms that have emerged in recent years as a participant in the boom of the online poker craze.

Launched only a couple of short years ago in 2004, Full Tilt Poker grew quickly because of their advertising campaign, offering the chance to “Chat with the Pros - Play with the Pros - Learn from the Pros”.

And so, their site has procured the services of players such as Chris Ferguson, Howard Lederer, Phil Ivey, Erik Seidel, John Juanda, Andy Bloch, Eric Lindgren, Phil Gordon, and Clonie Gowen.

Learn How To Avoid Losing “Big” Texas Holdem Hands

By admin | August 5, 2008

In texas holdem, certain hands always seem to get players into big trouble if they aren’t completely sure about what they are doing. I’m talking about hands that aren’t really hands but seem big.

Hands like queen/jack, king/queen, and especially ace/king, aka “Big Slick.”

It looks like a big hand but it isn’t. Not really.

More people busted out at the WSOP with ace/king than any other starting hand. And here’s why.

These types of hand, such as ace/king are not made hands.

Help Save Online Poker

By admin | August 5, 2008

If you play texas holdem or any version of online poker for that matter, you probably know about the middle of the night BS that the US Government pulled to try and shut down online poker.

The legislation, “Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act”, is intended to stop US citizens from gambling on the internet.

It doesn’t go after the players but prohibits payments from banks and credit-card companies to
off-shore Internet casinos that would be illegal under U.S. law.

The US government can yell and scream about these off-shore texas holdem and other gambling sites being illegal but they have no jurisdiction whatsoever when it comes to policing them. US laws just don’t apply.

So the US government is trying to get its own banks to do the dirty work to stop you from playing texas holdem online.

Sure, there are drug dealers and murderers running lose, but clearly you playing texas holdem online, that’s the real danger to the ordinary citizen.

And don’t get me started on the hypocrisy when the government runs their own gambling ring with state lotteries where they take money out of the pockets of the poor by selling them the dream of winning big.

And then they tax the bleep out of those winnings, money that has ALREADY been taxed at least once!

I believe this new law is unjust and, ultimately, unenforceable.

But it is currently making things very difficult, both for the poker sites and the ordinary online texas holdem poker player.
